Trump Criticises Senate Vote on Iran Military Operations

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday criticised the Senate’s approval of a War Powers resolution aimed at ending military operations against Iran.

In a statement on Truth Social, Trump said the vote came at the wrong time. He argued that it could weaken Washington’s position during ongoing diplomatic efforts with Tehran.

He also criticised Republican senators who backed the measure. According to Trump, their support gave political advantage to Iran.

The Senate approved the resolution by a 50-48 vote after it passed the House of Representatives earlier.

As a result, the move highlighted growing concern in Congress over the administration’s military strategy towards Iran.

However, the resolution remains largely symbolic. It still faces legal and political barriers before it could limit presidential powers.

Supporters of the measure argued that Congress should decide whether the country enters a prolonged conflict. They said decisions on military engagement should not rest solely with the White House.
