KARACHI: The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi has achieved another international milestone after two faculty members from its School of Visual and Performing Arts (SOVAPA) were selected for an advanced professional training programme in Germany with support from the Goethe-Institute.
Mohsin Ali and Alamzaib Khan will take part in a one-month residency and specialised training programme at Münchner Kammerspiele in Munich, one of Europe’s most recognised theatres for contemporary performing arts and artistic innovation.
During the residency, Mohsin Ali will receive advanced training in Sound Design, while Alamzaib Khan will focus on Lighting Design. The programme aims to strengthen technical expertise and provide direct exposure to contemporary production methods and international artistic practices.
The Arts Council said the achievement reflects its continued efforts to expand professional development opportunities, encourage international collaboration and support the growth of Pakistan’s cultural and creative sectors through global engagement.
In a statement, the institution congratulated both faculty members and expressed confidence that the residency would provide valuable experience and contribute to future artistic and educational development in Pakistan.
Münchner Kammerspiele, based in Munich, Germany, is internationally recognised for its contribution to contemporary theatre and its reputation for artistic excellence.
