The Balochistan government has suspended internet services across most areas of the province, including the provincial capital Quetta, for three days amid warnings of potential terrorist activity.

The move comes as part of heightened security measures to prevent possible attacks following recent terrorist incidents in Wana Cadet College and the District Courts in Islamabad.
Officials confirmed that public transport services from Quetta to Punjab have been temporarily halted, while educational institutions within cantonment areas have also been closed for the same duration. However, schools and universities in Quetta city and other districts remain open.
The restrictions have led to widespread disruptions for residents, with businesses, students, and travelers facing significant difficulties due to the internet blackout and transport suspension.
Earlier, a notification had imposed a ban on passenger coaches and public transport from November 12 to 14, but it was later rescinded by Transport Secretary Hayat Khan Kakar. Despite the reversal, a fresh directive was issued subsequently, maintaining restrictions on passenger vehicles traveling from Quetta to Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and other regions via Loralai and Zhob.
Authorities said the measures were temporary and precautionary, aimed at ensuring the safety of citizens and preventing any untoward incidents during a period of elevated security risk
