ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday extended greetings to the nation on Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), urging citizens to reflect the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in their individual and collective lives. In his message, President Zardari said Muslims had a responsibility to promote justice, tolerance, interfaith and sectarian harmony and respect for human dignity. He urged young people to seek guidance from the Seerat of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and make knowledge, strong moral character, hard work and service to humanity central principles of their lives. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) offered comprehensive guidance for the religious and worldly wellbeing and success of Muslims. He described the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as the finest embodiment of Islamic teachings and called on the nation to renew its commitment to incorporating Seerat-e-Tayyaba into personal character, conduct and collective behaviour. The prime minister also urged citizens to contribute to building Pakistan as a strong, prosperous, peaceful and welfare-oriented state. Both leaders prayed for peace, stability and prosperity in Pakistan on the auspicious occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).
