FBR surpasses its July 2026 tax collection target with Rs820 billion in net revenue.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) exceeded its July 2026 tax collection target by collecting Rs820 billion in net revenue, outperforming the monthly goal by Rs40 billion, according to official documents.

The FBR had set a net collection target of Rs780 billion for July. However, it collected Rs918 billion in gross taxes during the month before issuing Rs98 billion in refunds, resulting in net collections of Rs820 billion.
Meanwhile, gross income tax collections reached Rs343 billion. After paying Rs35 billion in refunds, net income tax receipts stood at Rs308 billion, falling short of the Rs323 billion target.
Sales tax generated Rs413 billion in gross revenue during July. The FBR also paid Rs53 billion in sales tax refunds over the same period.
In addition, collections under the Federal Excise Duty (FED) reached Rs48 billion, slightly exceeding the monthly target of Rs47 billion.
Customs duty also delivered a strong performance. The FBR collected Rs115 billion, surpassing the assigned target of Rs105 billion by Rs10 billion.
The July results mark a positive start to the new fiscal year, with stronger customs and excise collections helping the FBR exceed its overall monthly revenue target despite lower income tax receipts.
