Gold prices in Pakistan rose sharply on Thursday, reaching a record high in local bullion markets following a further increase in international gold prices. According to the Sarafa Association, the price of gold increased by Rs2,000 per tola to a record Rs440,636. The price of 10 grams of gold also rose by Rs1,715, reaching Rs377,774. The increase in local prices came after gold gained $20 in international markets. The precious metal closed at a record $4,181 per ounce. Silver prices also continued to rise. The price of silver increased by Rs50 per tola to Rs6,578.
