Twelve farmers in Mandi Bahauddin have received tractor keys under the Punjab government’s Green Tractor Scheme. A ceremony took place at the district office as part of farmer support initiatives launched by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Member of the Provincial Assembly and Parliamentary Secretary Khalid Mahmood Ranjha distributed the keys among the successful applicants. Speaking at the event, Ranjha said the Punjab government was providing a subsidy of Rs750,000 on each tractor. He said 174 farmers in the district would receive tractors through transparent online balloting. The authorities had initially handed over keys to 12 successful applicants. Ranjha added that the distribution would continue in phases until all selected farmers received their tractors. He said access to modern agricultural machinery would improve farming practices and help increase crop yields. The farmers who received the tractors thanked Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for introducing the support package and expressed gratitude to the Punjab government.
