Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone who disrupts law and order or takes the law into their own hands.

In a message to the people of the province, Kundi said residents had welcomed the presidential proclamation and wanted peace, stability, development and prosperity.

He said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had decided not to support what he called Fitna al-Khawarij, a term used by Pakistani authorities for militant groups.

The governor said residents would stand alongside security institutions and continue to oppose terrorism. He added that the public wanted a peaceful and prosperous future rather than unrest and disorder.

Kundi also stressed the importance of friendly relations and cooperation between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other provinces. He said shared experiences and collective efforts could help promote development and prosperity across the country.

He maintained that residents wanted democratic values to flourish and the benefits of development to reach ordinary citizens.

Describing the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as peace-loving, the governor said they did not support terrorism or violent activities. He urged citizens to avoid unlawful acts, provocation and rioting.

Kundi reiterated that anyone attempting to disturb peace or take the law into their own hands would face strict action in accordance with the law.

His remarks come amid heightened political and security tensions in the province following the presidential proclamation of emergency measures and changes in the provincial administration.
