Pakistan’s benchmark equity index, the KSE-100, staged a strong recovery on Thursday, gaining 4,266.79 points by the close of trading, indicating a revival in investor confidence after several sessions marked by sustained selling pressure.

The rally lifted the index 2.59 percent above its previous close of 164,626.29 points. Market activity remained robust, with 291 stocks advancing, 145 declining, and 131 remaining unchanged. Total traded volume reached 355.32 million shares by the end of the session.
During intraday trading, the index fluctuated between a low of 162,953.63 and a high of 169,374.27, reflecting continued volatility that has characterized trading throughout the week.
Brokerage firm Topline Securities noted that market sentiment improved as the session progressed. According to the firm, easing selling pressure and renewed buying interest transformed an initially cautious recovery into a broad-based rally across multiple sectors.
The strong finish signaled improving confidence among investors, particularly after Wednesday’s session, when the index briefly rebounded but ultimately closed lower, losing 1,632.25 points — highlighting lingering market fragility.
Among actively traded stocks, Unity Foods Limited led volumes but declined 10.02 percent to Rs11.85 with over 71 million shares traded. Bank of Punjab gained 7.76 percent to Rs31.81 on a volume of nearly 38.7 million shares, while K-Electric Limited rose 1.43 percent to Rs7.82 with more than 35 million shares exchanged.
On the gaining side, Blue-Ex Limited surged 19.34 percent to Rs6.17, Media Times Limited advanced 12.41 percent to Rs5.89, and Bunnys Limited climbed 11.6 percent to Rs9.62.
Meanwhile, LSE Capital Limited (Right) recorded one of the sharpest declines, falling 52 percent to Rs0.36. LOADS Limited (Right) dropped 20.99 percent to Rs0.64, while TPL Properties lost 11.24 percent to close at Rs7.82.
Analysts at Topline Securities said the session marked a return of bullish momentum, suggesting that buyers have regained control of market direction.
