The Pakistan Navy said the operation was carried out jointly by PNS HUNAIN and PNS YARMOOK as part of maritime security operations. The ships intercepted a suspicious boat while conducting routine patrols, according to a statement issued by the Navy on Saturday. Navy personnel boarded the vessel and searched it as part of their investigation. They recovered more than 2,800kg of narcotics from concealed compartments, the statement said. The Navy valued the seized drugs at approximately $750 million. It did not provide further details about the type of narcotics or the vessel’s intended destination. The operation highlights the Navy’s role in maritime surveillance and efforts to prevent illicit trafficking at sea, according to the statement. Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf praised the officers and crews of PNS HUNAIN and PNS YARMOOK following the operation. He commended their professionalism and vigilance and said the Pakistan Navy remained committed to protecting the country’s maritime interests and maintaining security at sea.
