Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is steadily recovering after sustaining multiple stab wounds during an attempted burglary at his Bandra residence in the early hours of January 16.
Doctors at Lilavati Hospital confirmed that Saif’s condition has improved significantly, and he has been shifted from the ICU to a private room. In a statement, Saif’s treating doctor reassured fans:
“Saif Ali Khan’s condition is stable. He is feeling better and has been moved to a special room. Visitors are restricted to minimize infection risks.”
Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, praised Saif’s resilience:
“When Saif arrived at the hospital, he was drenched in blood but walked in like a lion, holding his son Taimur. He is doing very well now and has been shifted to a normal room.”
However, Dr. Nitin Dange noted that while Saif’s recovery is progressing well, his movements are currently limited due to a spinal injury caused during the attack.
The incident occurred at 2:15 am when a burglar broke into Saif and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s home in the Satguru Sharan building. The intruder first assaulted the household staff before Saif intervened. During the confrontation, Saif sustained multiple stab wounds but managed to prevent more severe harm, escaping serious injury by just two millimeters.
Doctors successfully removed a Hexa blade lodged in Saif’s body during surgery. The weapon has been seized by police as evidence.
Police Action
Mumbai Police apprehended a suspect 30 hours after the incident. CCTV footage revealed the intruder entering the premises armed with a wooden stick and a Hexa blade before fleeing through a poorly monitored rear gate.
Community Support
The Bollywood fraternity and fans have rallied around the Khan family, expressing concern and sending well wishes. Kareena Kapoor Khan has requested privacy during this challenging time.
Despite the harrowing experience, Saif Ali Khan’s courage has been widely lauded. His doctors remain optimistic about his full recovery, while investigations into the case continue.
