Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, the speaker said political differences are part of democracy. However, he stressed that respect for the country’s martyrs and national institutions cannot be compromised.

He acknowledged that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) is a major political party. However, he said he strongly disagreed with Fazlur Rehman’s recent statement. He described remarks considered disrespectful towards the armed forces as unacceptable.

Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan said the sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs remain a source of national pride. He urged political leaders to act responsibly and exercise caution when discussing national security issues.

He also rejected the idea of negotiating with terrorist groups. He said those responsible for attacks on mosques, imambargahs, courts and civilians cannot be treated as political actors.

Referring to terrorism in Balochistan, attacks on trains and the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav, he said the state’s duty is to eliminate terrorism. He added that militant groups must never be allowed to spread fear and violence again.

The speaker said political parties should maintain consistent positions if they criticise the military’s political role. He also said electoral disputes should be resolved through constitutional and legal forums, including election tribunals, instead of street protests.

Finally, he said protecting the national interest, state institutions, the armed forces and the dignity of the country’s martyrs must remain the country’s highest priority.
