Security forces monitor militant activities in Balochistan.
The banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has allegedly shifted towards kidnapping civilians for ransom, according to security sources.
Sources said BLA militants kidnapped a courier company’s mini truck and two people from Khad Kocha on July 24.
The group allegedly demanded Rs25 million in ransom from the courier company on July 26. According to security sources, militants threatened to kill the abducted individuals if the payment was not made.
Security officials said the group has also been linked to other criminal activities, including bank robberies, vehicle theft, extortion and ransom kidnappings.
Moreover, officials said these activities show the use of criminal networks to support militant operations.
They added that such actions create difficulties for local residents, traders and ongoing peace efforts in Balochistan.
Meanwhile, security sources claimed the group carries out these activities to spread fear and instability among the public.
Authorities said efforts against militant networks will continue to protect citizens and maintain law and order in the province.
