Political Talks took centre stage as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met PML-N President Nawaz Sharif at Jati Umra in Lahore on Saturday. The leaders reviewed the country’s political situation, upcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections and regional developments.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also attended the meeting.

Nawaz Sharif stressed the need for political tolerance. He said political differences should focus on ideas instead of personal disputes. He added that democracy remains the best system of governance and that only the people have the right to choose their rulers.

The participants also reviewed preparations for the AJK elections. They discussed recent political developments and the exchange of statements between the PML-N and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan continued efforts to promote peace in the Middle East. He said the government had addressed the concerns of its allies and believed dialogue remained the best way to resolve disputes.

He also briefed the meeting on the security situation. He said operations against Fitna al Khawarij were continuing successfully across the country.

According to sources, the leaders also discussed the situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. They reviewed matters related to recent elections and exchanged views on national and regional developments. The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to political stability and democratic engagement.
