RAWALPINDI: Malaysian Home Affairs Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, accompanied by Malaysia’s ambassador to Pakistan and a high-level delegation, met Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Friday.

The meeting covered regional security developments and matters of mutual interest, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Both sides reaffirmed the longstanding ties between Pakistan and Malaysia and expressed their resolve to expand cooperation and engagement in areas of shared interest.

Field Marshal Munir reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to deepening defence cooperation and strengthening strategic engagement with Malaysia.

The meeting comes as Islamabad and Kuala Lumpur continue to enhance bilateral coordination on security and other areas of mutual interest.
