Hajj 2027 Ministry warns pilgrims against cash payments

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued a warning to Pakistanis planning Hajj 2027 under the private scheme, urging them not to make cash payments to Hajj operators or individuals.

The ministry has directed intending pilgrims to make all Hajj payments through the officially designated Digital Hajj Management System or the Pak Hajj app.

According to the ministry, the measure aims to protect pilgrims from fraud and improve monitoring of private Hajj operators. Pilgrims have also been advised against using unofficial payment channels.

The ministry warned that payments made outside the prescribed system could put pilgrims’ money at risk.

Under the Hajj policy, pilgrims travelling through the private scheme must select an officially licensed Hajj operator for Hajj 2027. The ministry has urged pilgrims to verify the operator’s status before making any arrangements or payments.

Pakistan has been allocated a total Hajj quota of 179,210 pilgrims for 2027. Of these, 71,684 pilgrims will perform Hajj under the private scheme, while the remaining pilgrims will travel under the government scheme.

The warning comes amid concerns over financial fraud and irregularities linked to Hajj-related payments. Authorities have urged pilgrims to follow official procedures and avoid unauthorised individuals or entities.

Around 67,000 Pakistani pilgrims were unable to travel for Hajj in 2025 for various reasons.
