The International Cricket Council (ICC) has fined Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf 20% of his match fee for breaching its Code of Conduct during the One-Day International (ODI) against England in Lahore. The incident occurred on Sunday at the end of Pakistan’s 46th over, when Rauf appealed for a wide delivery and became involved in an argument with England all-rounder Will Jacks. During the exchange, Rauf raised his bat and continued arguing despite a warning from umpire Sharfuddoula. The ICC found him guilty of breaching Article 2.2 of its Code of Conduct, which covers the abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during an international match. Along with the financial penalty, Rauf received one demerit point on his disciplinary record. The latest offence was his third within a 24-month period, taking his total to five demerit points. Rauf admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by match referee Jeff Crowe. As a result, no formal hearing was required.
