Saleem Bagga, a 53-year-old food vendor from Sahiwal, Pakistan, has become a local celebrity thanks to his uncanny resemblance to the U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. Known for selling traditional kheer, a creamy rice pudding, Bagga is drawing crowds not just for his dessert but also for his striking blond quiff—a result of albinism—and his entertaining persona.
Pushing his colorful wooden cart through the bustling streets of Sahiwal, Bagga dons a black jacket and beige shalwar kameez to keep warm while delighting customers with Punjabi songs as he serves his signature pudding.
Local residents have taken to calling him “Trump,” with many stopping to snap selfies and share the experience with friends. Mohammad Yaseen, a frequent customer, quipped, “We feel as if Trump has come here to sell kheer.”
Imran Ashraf, another resident, praised Bagga’s culinary skills and charisma, saying, “His kheer is really delicious… we talk to him and take selfies with him. We tell our friends that we have taken these pictures with Trump.”
Despite the attention, Bagga remains humble, embracing the comparisons with a smile. “My face resembles Donald Trump, that’s why people take selfies with me. I feel very good,” he said, surrounded by admirers.
In a humorous twist, Bagga has even extended an invitation to President-elect Trump, saying, “Donald Trump sahib, you have won the election, now visit here and eat my kheer—you will really enjoy it.”
The food vendor’s charm and resemblance to one of the world’s most recognized figures have turned him into a unique attraction in Punjab, proving that sometimes, fame can come from the most unexpected sources.
