In an official statement, the Foreign Office expressed condolences over the loss of life. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the departed soldier, and we wish the injured a swift and complete recovery. We extend heartfelt sympathies to the families affected, as well as to the Government and people of the United States,” it said.
The FO stated that the targeted attack “was undoubtedly an act of terrorism and a heinous assault on United States soil,” adding that Pakistan has itself endured numerous similar attacks over the past two decades, many with “clear linkages to Afghanistan.”
The statement stressed that the incident highlights the ongoing threat of transnational terrorism and reinforces the need for stronger global cooperation. “This incident signifies the challenges posed by transnational terrorism and underscores the need for enhanced global cooperation to confront this menace,” it noted.
Calling the attack a sign of a troubling global resurgence in terrorism, Pakistan urged the international community to step up joint counter-terrorism efforts.
“Pakistan remains committed to working with the United States and the wider international community to address the shared challenge of terrorism,” the FO added.
