The Pakistan Navy and the Royal Navy of Oman have successfully concluded the 12th edition of their bilateral naval exercise, Thamar Al Tayyib (TAT) 2025, held in Karachi, the Directorate General Public Relations (Pakistan Navy) announced on Saturday.
A flotilla from the Royal Navy of Oman — including RNO vessels Al Rasikh and Al Shinas — arrived at Karachi Port to take part in the exercise, aimed at boosting maritime security cooperation and reinforcing the longstanding friendship between the two nations.
The visiting ships were accorded a warm welcome during a traditional reception ceremony attended by senior Pakistan Navy officials, accompanied by a ceremonial performance from the Pakistan Navy band.
The TAT series, which began in 1980, remains a vital platform for interoperability, professional development, and mutual learning between the two navies. The previous edition, TAT-2023, was hosted by Oman.
During the visit, Omani naval personnel held meetings with senior Pakistan Navy leadership and attended onboard receptions, as well as tours of key naval installations and training facilities. Naval teams from both countries engaged in operational discussions and exchanged insights across multiple maritime domains.
The exercise concluded with an extensive sea phase, where naval units from both sides conducted advanced operational drills and coordinated maneuvers covering major elements of modern maritime warfare.
The Pakistan Navy reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing regional maritime cooperation and strengthening partnerships with friendly navies. The Royal Navy of Oman’s participation in TAT-2025 demonstrates the deepening defence ties between Pakistan and Oman and highlights their shared commitment to promoting regional peace, stability, and maritime collaboration.
