The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission has ordered re-polling at 23 polling stations in two Bagh constituencies.

Voters will cast their ballots again on August 15 in nine polling stations in LA-15 Bagh-2 and 14 polling stations in LA-16 Bagh-3.

Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retd) Ghulam Mustafa Mughal announced the decision after receiving reports from the relevant returning officers.

In LA-15 Bagh-2, the returning officer has received results from 204 of the constituency’s 213 polling stations. The re-polling will cover stations 114, 135, 143, 144, 145, 146, 147, 148 and 186.

In LA-16 Bagh-3, results have been received from 172 of the 186 polling stations. Voters will re-poll at stations 28, 29, 40, 49, 50, 51, 77, 91, 109, 110, 111, 112, 143 and 149.

The chief election commissioner urged voters to return to their designated polling stations on August 15. He asked them to exercise their right to vote and choose their representatives for the next five years.

Meanwhile, Awami Dast-o-Bazu candidate Sardar Sajid Abbasi has won LA-14 DhirKot, Bagh West.

Pakistan Peoples Party candidate and AJK Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has also secured victory in LA-17 Haveli.
