Karachi: Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, accompanied by Mayor Murtaza Wahab and Inspector General of Sindh Police Javed Alam Odho, conducted an extensive review of security arrangements across Karachi on Sunday.

The visit focused on ensuring comprehensive safety measures during the holy month of Ramadan, with the Home Minister emphasizing that protecting citizens’ lives and property is the foremost priority. Lanjar instructed law enforcement agencies to remain on high alert, particularly during peak hours before Iftar, and to maintain smooth traffic flow to minimize public inconvenience.
“Protection of citizens’ lives and property during Ramadan is our foremost priority,” said Lanjar. He also called on religious scholars to promote understanding and harmony amid the current national situation.
Mayor Murtaza Wahab highlighted the responsibility of the city administration to provide a safe and peaceful environment. He noted that municipal and security institutions are working in coordination to improve traffic management and public convenience. “We will not allow citizens to face difficulties during Iftar timings,” Wahab added.
The Home Minister also expressed condolences over the reported martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, outside the U.S. Consulate, mourning the loss of human lives and praying for the swift recovery of the injured.
Lanjar concluded by reaffirming that the rule of law will be upheld at all costs and urged citizens to exercise patience and restraint.
