In remarks carried by Iranian state media, President Pezeshkian said opponents of the Islamic Republic had believed the government would collapse within days, but such expectations were proven wrong due to what he described as the resilience of the Iranian people and the strength of national institutions.
He emphasized that the “bravery and unity” shown by Iranian citizens during recent tensions demonstrated the country’s internal cohesion and ability to withstand external pressure. According to him, public response during the crisis was “unprecedented” and reflected strong national solidarity.
The Iranian president also rejected statements made by US President Donald Trump, who had suggested that some visual content emerging from Iran was artificially generated or misleading. Pezeshkian dismissed the claim, saying it was an attempt to distort reality and that conditions on the ground clearly contradict such assertions.
He further noted that timely decisions and guidance from Iran’s leadership helped the country navigate a difficult period, ultimately allowing it to emerge with what he described as “dignity and respect.”
Highlighting regional diplomacy, Pezeshkian also pointed to recent efforts that contributed to a ceasefire in Lebanon, describing it as an important development for broader regional stability.
