At least three Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes in Gaza on Sunday, including two members of the Hamas-run police force, according to local health officials. The attacks come amid continued violence despite a US-brokered ceasefire that has struggled to hold since October 2025.

Medical sources reported that one strike hit the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, killing one person. In a separate incident in Khan Younis, an airstrike killed Wessam Abdel-Hadi, the head of the Hamas-run criminal police, along with his aide, according to Gaza’s interior ministry.
The Israeli military has not issued an immediate comment on the reported strikes. However, Israel has previously intensified operations targeting Hamas-linked police structures, accusing them of helping the group re-establish administrative control in parts of Gaza.
Despite the ceasefire agreement, hostilities have continued almost daily. Local medical authorities say at least 850 Palestinians have been killed since the truce took effect, while Israel reports the deaths of four of its soldiers during the same period.
Both Israel and Hamas continue to accuse each other of violating the ceasefire, raising concerns about the durability of the agreement and the risk of renewed large-scale escalation.
The wider conflict, which began in October 2023, has resulted in more than 72,500 Palestinian deaths according to Gaza health officials, the majority of them civilians, making it one of the deadliest phases in the region’s recent history.
