Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe was jeered by sections of supporters at the Santiago Bernabeu during his side’s 2-0 La Liga victory over Real Oviedo on Thursday.

The French star returned from a thigh injury as a second-half substitute, but some fans expressed frustration over his recent performances and perceived lack of commitment. Despite the negative reaction, Mbappe remained calm and said criticism is part of life at a club like Real Madrid.
“The whistles are part of football. You cannot always change people’s opinions immediately,” Mbappe told reporters after the match.
Madrid secured the win through goals from academy forward Gonzalo Garcia and England midfielder Jude Bellingham. The victory came days after Real Madrid lost El Clasico to rivals FC Barcelona, confirming Barcelona as La Liga champions.
Coach Alvaro Arbeloa initially left both Mbappe and Bellingham on the bench before introducing them later in the match. Mbappe attempted several shots after coming on but failed to add to his tally of 41 goals this season.
Some supporters also directed whistles at winger Vinicius Junior, while banners criticizing club president Florentino Perez were briefly displayed inside the stadium.
The result offered little relief for Madrid, who are set to finish a second consecutive season without a major trophy.
