At least 16 people lost their lives and seven others sustained injuries after a passenger van collided with a bus on the Swat Expressway, according to Motorway Police officials.

Authorities said the accident occurred due to alleged negligence and careless driving by the van driver. Initial reports indicated that the speeding passenger van crashed into a bus that had been parked on the roadside.
Officials stated that the bus was travelling from Karachi to Buner, while the van was on its way from Rawalpindi to Dir.
Rescue teams and Motorway Police personnel reached the scene soon after the incident and launched relief operations.
The bodies of those who died and the injured victims were shifted to Mardan Medical Complex for treatment and legal procedures.
Authorities said further investigations into the incident are underway.
