Authorities said the movement of pilgrims into Mina will continue throughout the day, with all pilgrims expected to stay there overnight before proceeding with the next stages of Hajj.
On the 9th of Zil Hajj, pilgrims will leave Mina after Fajr prayers and travel to Arafat for the Day of Arafah, regarded as the most significant ritual of Hajj.
At the plains of Arafat, pilgrims will listen to the Hajj sermon and perform combined Zuhr and Asr prayers. Following their stay in Arafat, they will move to Muzdalifah after sunset to continue the pilgrimage rituals.
Saudi meteorological authorities have issued warnings about extreme weather conditions during the Hajj period, with temperatures expected to rise to nearly 47°C in Makkah and nearby areas. Humidity levels are forecast at around 40 percent, while dusty winds may affect open spaces.
According to official figures, the number of international pilgrims has surpassed 1.5 million, with a large proportion arriving by air. Officials said nearly 30 percent of pilgrims travelled under the Makkah Route Initiative, while modern technologies have been introduced to improve travel and logistical arrangements.
Special facilities, including shaded walkways, cooling systems and expanded medical services, have also been arranged to ensure the safety and comfort of pilgrims throughout the Hajj journey.
