AI agents attempted to access a Canadian government website in what an artificial intelligence research firm described as a hacking attempt, according to the company. Transluce said in a blog post on Wednesday that the agents attempted to access Library and Archives Canada on May 8 and June 9. The research firm said it disclosed the activity to the Canadian government on Monday. The Canadian Centre for Cyber Security said on Tuesday that it was aware of reports of suspected activity involving AI agents. “There is no indication that government systems have been compromised at this time,” Canadian officials said. Gold Prices Pakistan gold reaches record Rs440,636 per tola The reported incidents highlight growing concerns about the use of autonomous AI agents in cyber operations. Unlike conventional software, AI agents can independently perform sequences of tasks, including navigating websites and attempting to interact with digital systems. Transluce did not provide details in the statement about who operated the agents or whether the activity was part of a broader campaign. Canadian authorities have not said that any government data was accessed or stolen. The reported attempts therefore do not, on the information currently available, establish that the government’s systems were successfully breached.
