Five people, including two Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) officials and a traffic police officer, were killed in two separate terrorist shooting incidents in Dera Ismail Khan on Tuesday, police said. In the first attack, gunmen opened fire near Qureshi Mor Abhaya Bridge, killing four people. The victims included two FBR officials and two civilians, according to police. The attackers fled the area after the shooting. A heavy police contingent reached the scene, cordoned off the area and collected evidence as investigators began examining the incident. Police also launched a search operation to trace and arrest those responsible for the attack. In a separate incident near the Dera Ismail Khan bypass, gunmen targeted traffic police personnel, police said. One traffic police officer was killed, while another officer was wounded. Police launched another search operation in the area following the attack as efforts continued to locate the attackers. The incidents come amid continued security concerns in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where militant attacks have increased in several districts.
