The inauguration ceremony drew Local Government Minister Nasir Shah, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, and a large number of citizens.
Improved Connectivity Across Key Routes
Murad Ali Shah said the flyover connects Shahrah-e-Bhutto, Shah Faisal Colony, Shahrah-e-Faisal, and Karachi Airport. As a result, commuters now get faster access across major urban routes.
He added that the Rs1.562 billion project reached completion in just 90 days. Consequently, authorities expect a significant reduction in traffic pressure at the Azeempura intersection.
Commuters traveling to Korangi, Malir, Shah Faisal, and the airport will benefit from shorter travel times. Moreover, daily congestion in surrounding areas should decrease.
Infrastructure Built for Long-Term Relief
Officials confirmed that the project includes a 700-meter dual carriage flyover along with 1,255 meters of connecting roads.
In addition, engineers upgraded 2,075 meters of drainage lines to improve water flow in the area.
They also constructed 850 meters of new footpaths to improve pedestrian access and safety.
Furthermore, the scheme features a new roundabout, median barriers, and modern street lighting.
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation completed the project ahead of schedule. Therefore, the chief minister praised the execution and called it a sign of institutional efficiency.
Government Focus on Urban Development
Murad Ali Shah said Karachi needs continuous infrastructure upgrades due to its growing population and economic importance.
He stressed that the government will continue expanding transport projects across the city.
Meanwhile, authorities plan to prioritize safer and faster travel for residents in future development initiatives.
