Jerusalem — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has revealed that he recently underwent successful treatment for early-stage prostate cancer, according to a statement released alongside his annual medical report.

The 76-year-old leader said a malignant tumor was discovered during a routine medical checkup and was treated through targeted therapy, leaving “no trace” of the disease. The accompanying medical report confirmed that the treatment involved radiation therapy and described Netanyahu as being in overall good health.
Neither the prime minister nor the report specified when the treatment took place. However, Netanyahu acknowledged that the release of his medical report had been delayed by two months, citing concerns that Iran could exploit the information for “false propaganda” during a period of heightened tensions.
Earlier this year, amid conflict-related developments between Israel and Iran, rumors circulated on social media and Iranian state media alleging that Netanyahu had died. In response, he publicly dismissed the claims by sharing a video of himself visiting a café in Jerusalem.
Netanyahu has faced several health issues in recent years. In 2024, he underwent prostate surgery following a urinary tract infection linked to benign enlargement, while in 2023 he had a pacemaker fitted.
Despite these medical concerns, Netanyahu remains active in office, with Israel expected to hold its next general elections by October.
