KARACHI: Activity has intensified at the Awam Dost Mandi on the Northern Bypass as Eid-ul-Adha approaches, with a steady influx of sacrificial animals and traders arriving from across the country.

Administrator Tariq Tanoli said a record number of animals is expected at the market this year, with hundreds arriving daily. A large group of livestock traders from Jacobabad has recently reached the mandi, bringing healthy and high-quality animals.
Among the prominent traders, Khan Muhammad Jakhrani brought 32 animals, Abdul Hamid 35, Qalandar Bux 44, and Fida Hussain arrived with a herd of 80 animals.
Traders expressed satisfaction over the facilities provided, highlighting the availability of proper space and administrative support within the market.
The management stated that comprehensive arrangements, including enhanced security measures and modern amenities, have been put in place to facilitate both buyers and sellers during the busy season.
Authorities have also advised citizens to avoid making payments outside the market premises and instead use designated on-site banking facilities to ensure safe and secure transactions.
