Fifteen strategically located satellite stations have been established along major highways and motorways to provide rapid emergency assistance to travelers and nearby communities. The new stations are equipped with advanced ambulances, fire tenders, disaster management tools, and recovery vehicles, significantly upgrading Sindh’s emergency infrastructure.
“This expansion addresses a crucial gap in emergency services and reflects our commitment to building a safer and more resilient Sindh,” the CM stated. He highlighted that Rescue 1122, launched in 2022, is transforming emergency response in the province, offering free services via a unified helpline, 1122.
The CM announced plans to extend Rescue 1122 services to district and tehsil levels to ensure accessibility across Sindh. The service includes medical emergencies, firefighting, water rescue, urban search and rescue, and lifesaving training programs, delivered by professionals trained at recognised academies.
He expressed gratitude to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and the World Bank for their support and praised the dedication of Rescue 1122 personnel, who have responded to over 700,000 medical emergencies, 1,000 fire incidents, 60 building collapses, and 180 drowning rescues since the service’s inception.
Planning and Development Minister Nasir Shah announced additional initiatives, including modernising 10 government hospital emergency wards, rehabilitating 836 kilometers of roads, and restoring 375 water supply schemes in flood-affected areas.
Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab urged the CM to announce a comprehensive drainage system for Gulshan-i-Maymar, to which the CM pledged support.
The CM also addressed education reforms, stating plans to modernise examination models and appoint qualified professionals to improve the performance of educational boards.
On corporate farming, he clarified that only barren land would be utilised and outlined a scheme to bring uncultivated land under cultivation.
These initiatives underscore the Sindh government’s commitment to public safety, infrastructure development, and disaster resilience.
