Speaking alongside Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab at the inauguration of the Munawar Chowrangi Underpass in Karachi, Shah said the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had delivered more development projects in the city than any previous government.

Karachi development highlighted

Shah said the PPP had built numerous underpasses and bridges across Karachi to improve the city’s infrastructure.

In addition, he said the city administration, under Mayor Wahab’s leadership, had demolished several marriage halls built on public playgrounds to restore recreational spaces for residents.

Minister rejects criticism

Responding to claims that Karachi ranks among the world’s worst cities, Shah rejected the criticism.

Instead, he said the city’s growing population reflects its economic importance and continued appeal.

“If Karachi were in such poor condition, people would not continue to move here,” he said, describing the metropolis as a “Mini Pakistan” where people from across the country are welcome to live and work.

Sindh will remain united

The minister said the mayor and town chairmen are working continuously to improve civic infrastructure and municipal services.

Meanwhile, he added that authorities are addressing public complaints through prompt administrative action.

Responding to reports about a possible division of Sindh, Shah firmly rejected the speculation.

“Some people keep raising such issues, but we do not take them seriously. We remain focused on our work, and Sindh can never be divided,” he said.
