Pakistan-Saudi Relations Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on Saturday, with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to regional peace, stability and closer bilateral cooperation. Sindh Division Nasir Hussain Shah Rejects Speculation, Says Province Will Remain United During the conversation, the two ministers reviewed the latest regional developments and reiterated the close and brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Commitment to regional stability Both leaders stressed the importance of continued diplomacy and agreed to promote constructive engagement to support peace and stability across the region. Meanwhile, Dar also met Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic. Dar urges dialogue and de-escalation During the meeting, Dar expressed deep concern over recent regional tensions and emphasised the need for dialogue, restraint and de-escalation by all sides. Furthermore, he called for sustained diplomatic engagement and urged all parties to build on the understandings reached under the Islamabad MoU signed in June 2026. The two ministers also reviewed the evolving regional situation and reaffirmed the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and Iran. Iran appreciates Pakistan’s support Araghchi praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to promote regional peace and security. In addition, he thanked Pakistan for facilitating the safe return of Iranian fishermen and crew members, including those from vessels intercepted by the United States.
