PTI lawyers outside the Supreme Court seeking implementation of an order for the party founder’s hospital transferPTI lawyers approach the Supreme Court over the alleged delay in implementing its hospital transfer order.

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has approached the Supreme Court over the alleged non-compliance with its August 18 order concerning the medical treatment of the party’s founder, seeking his immediate transfer to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad.

The contempt petition was filed on Saturday by PTI lawyers Aziz Bhandari and Salman Akram Raja. It asks the court to initiate contempt proceedings against those allegedly responsible for failing to implement its directive.

The petition seeks show-cause notices for the respondents and requests that they appear before the court in their personal capacities. It also asks the court to impose penalties under the law if contempt is established.

PTI has requested the immediate transfer of its founder to Shifa International Hospital for a medical examination. The party has also proposed appointing a judicial officer or local commission to oversee implementation of the Supreme Court’s order.

Speaking to reporters outside the Supreme Court, Raja said the alleged violation was clear and accused authorities of deliberately creating a false narrative about an alleged rush surrounding the matter.

“We will not be silenced and raise our voice for justice at every level,” Raja said.

Raja expressed hope that the Supreme Court would decide the matter in accordance with the Constitution and the law.

The Supreme Court has already adjourned the related case until September 16.
