Mir Raza case investigators have secured more time from a Karachi court to submit the medical examination and investigation reports as authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the young trader’s death. The case came before Judicial Magistrate East at the City Court, where the investigating officer requested additional time to complete the investigation and submit the required reports. The officer also told the court that investigators needed Mir Raza’s SIM card to advance the probe. The court questioned how authorities planned to obtain the SIM. Investigators said they would try to secure the SIM through Mir Raza’s mother’s biometric verification and CNIC details. It directed authorities to present an update on the investigation along with the medical examination report at the next hearing. Meanwhile, the Sindh government has removed Medical Legal Officer Dr Osama, who conducted Mir Raza’s initial postmortem. Officials have directed the doctor to appear before an inquiry committee investigating alleged lapses in the medico-legal procedures and postmortem report. Officials alleged that the initial postmortem contained errors and said the committee would question Dr Osama about discrepancies identified in the report. He was serving as a medico-legal officer at Jinnah Hospital. Investigators have also prepared a list of 10 people whom they plan to summon for questioning as part of the probe. According to investigative sources, Mir Raza had borrowed money from some people on the list. Sources said he allegedly took more than Rs17.5 million from one person, while another individual had lent him Rs500,000. Authorities are continuing to examine Mir Raza’s financial dealings and other circumstances surrounding his death as the investigation progresses.
