Khuzdar operation against militants affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan has drawn praise from President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who commended the security forces for their successful action.

In separate statements, the president and prime minister said the timely operation demonstrated the professional capabilities and expertise of Pakistan’s security forces.

They said the entire nation stood united with the security forces in the effort to eliminate terrorism from the country.

Security forces earlier conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Shor Parod mountain range of Khuzdar after receiving information about the presence of suspected militants.

According to security sources, intelligence teams located the terrorists’ hideouts before security personnel cordoned off the area and launched operations at several locations.

The militants had reportedly divided into three small groups. As security forces advanced towards their positions, the militants opened fire, prompting the forces to respond.

The ensuing exchange of fire killed 10 terrorists and injured several others, according to security sources.

Security personnel also cleared several suspected militant hideouts during the operation.

Authorities said they continue to monitor the area for possible militant movements and hideouts. Additional security measures are also being taken to prevent further threats.

President Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz reiterated their determination to support security forces in the fight against terrorism and praised personnel involved in the operation.
