Dar praised Yahya’s contribution to strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and the United Nations and acknowledged the work of the UN Country Team under his leadership, according to a Foreign Office statement. The deputy prime minister congratulated Yahya on his appointment as Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator at the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
