The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has filed a petition with the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), seeking a reduction of 65 paisa per unit in electricity rates for the month of October.
If approved, the price cut will apply to consumers nationwide, including those in Karachi who are billed through K-Electric. The fuel adjustment for September is already in effect, during which electricity prices were reduced by 48 paisa per unit.
NEPRA is set to review and hear the CPPA’s request on November 27, after which a final decision will be announced.
