Gold Prices in Pakistan decline to Rs424,536 per tola following a drop in international bullion markets.Gold Prices fall in Pakistan as 24-karat gold drops by Rs7,000 per tola.

Gold Prices in Pakistan fell sharply on Friday, with 24-karat gold declining by Rs7,000 per tola amid a downturn in international bullion markets.

According to the Sarafa Association, the price of 24-karat gold dropped to Rs424,536 per tola. The rate for 10 grams also fell by Rs6,001 to Rs363,971.

The decline followed a $70-per-ounce drop in international gold prices, which reached $4,020. Silver prices also decreased in domestic and international markets, reflecting a broader decline in precious metals.

The latest reduction could offer some relief to jewellery buyers in Pakistan, where gold remains an important purchase for weddings and other traditional occasions. However, retail prices may vary depending on making charges, taxes and other applicable costs.

Gold prices in Pakistan are closely linked to international bullion rates, exchange-rate movements and local market conditions. Changes in global prices can therefore affect domestic rates, although currency fluctuations may influence the size of the adjustment.

International gold prices can respond to several factors, including investor demand, interest-rate expectations, currency movements and economic uncertainty. Although investors often view gold as a safe-haven asset during periods of instability, prices can also fall as market expectations and investment positions change.

Silver also recorded a decline in Pakistan. The price of 24-karat silver fell by Rs221 per tola to Rs5,865, according to the reported market rates.

Like gold, silver prices respond to international market movements and exchange rates. However, silver also has substantial industrial uses, making expectations about manufacturing activity and industrial demand important factors in its price movements.

For consumers, lower bullion prices may reduce the cost of purchasing jewellery, although the final amount paid will depend on additional retail charges. Investors, meanwhile, should not interpret a single day’s decline as confirmation of a sustained downward trend.

Market participants will continue to monitor international bullion prices, currency movements and investor demand to assess the direction of gold and silver prices in the coming sessions.
