KARACHI — Residents of Orangaabad, Nazimabad, and surrounding areas have reported persistent water shortages for the past three to four years, urging the Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB) and local authorities to take immediate corrective measures.

According to locals, the original 10-inch main water supply line in Orangaabad Chhota Maidan, which previously ensured regular water flow, has been diverted to supply Blocks 3H and 3G. This diversion has caused a drastic decline in water availability for Chhota Maidan and other parts of Nazimabad.
Residents claim that the redirected line is now catering to residential, commercial, and hospitality establishments in Blocks 3H and 3G, overburdening the system and leaving many households with only a few hours of weak supply despite continuous pumping.
Locals have demanded that the original 10-inch water line be restored to Chhota Maidan before further road construction progresses, emphasizing that this step is necessary to ensure equitable and consistent water distribution.
The community has appealed to KWSB officials and the Town Chairman to prioritize the matter to alleviate the long-standing daily hardships caused by the water crisis.
