Karachi — A vibrant, carnival-like atmosphere took over the Northern Bypass Cattle Market on Sunday as thousands of citizens poured in with families and friends, marking a lively آغاز to the pre-Eid al-Adha season.

The market, particularly near Surjani Town, witnessed an energetic turnout of الشباب, with music, gatherings, and photo sessions turning routine livestock visits into a festive social experience. Visitors were seen capturing moments with the towering and visually striking “Sibi Bulls,” which have quickly become a viral attraction on social media platforms.
Livestock Numbers Surge Past 15,000
According to market administration officials, livestock arrivals have surged sharply in recent days, with the total number of animals now exceeding 15,000. Traders from across the country continue to bring in premium breeds, increasing both variety and competition.
A major highlight remains the “Sapphire Block,” where a prized bull named “Diamond” has drawn significant attention. Known for its immaculate white coat and imposing size, the animal has become a centerpiece for visitors. Its caretaker, Iqbal, shared that the bull was raised on a specialized organic diet and given exceptional care, reflecting the high standards of livestock being brought to Karachi this year.
Upgraded Facilities Enhance Visitor Experience
To handle the weekend rush and ensure a smooth experience, the administration has expanded facilities and improved infrastructure across the market.
An upgraded food street offers a wide range of dining options for families, while enhanced security arrangements, designated parking zones, and improved lighting have strengthened safety and convenience, particularly for evening visitors. Authorities have also ensured uninterrupted water supply and veterinary services to maintain animal health and welfare.
“Our aim is to create a citizen-friendly environment where families can safely and comfortably fulfill their religious obligation,” a market spokesperson said.
With more shipments expected in the coming days, the Northern Bypass Cattle Market is set to remain Karachi’s central hub for sacrificial animal trading ahead of Eid.
