Karachi, April 29, 2026 — A unique father-daughter live painting session titled “Brush Hour” captivated art enthusiasts at the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, where creativity and collaboration took center stage.

Organised by the Fine Art Committee, the session was held at Haseena Moin Hall and featured renowned painter A. S. Rind and his daughter Umina Khan. The duo created artworks together on a shared canvas using charcoal and oil paints, while also engaging with the audience through an interactive Q&A.
The live demonstration drew appreciation from attendees, including Sharmila Faruqui, Farrukh Shahab, Nusrat Khawaja, and Samina Mumtaz, along with other figures from the art community.
On behalf of the council, Farrukh Shahab presented commemorative shields to A. S. Rind and Umina Khan in recognition of their contributions to fine arts.
Speaking at the event, Sharmila Faruqui described the collaboration as a “beautiful feeling,” highlighting the visible artistic heritage and expression of women in their work. A. S. Rind reflected on the role of artists as storytellers, noting that his focus on women stems from long-held observations.
Umina Khan expressed her joy at painting alongside her father, calling it a dream come true. She shared her perspective on artistic expression, saying her style differs from her father’s and that painting allows her to reconnect with a childlike sense of creativity.
The session concluded with strong appreciation from art lovers, celebrating both the artistic synergy and the emotional bond between the father and daughter.
