A judicial magistrate in Karachi on Saturday granted post-arrest bail to a suspect, Khubaib, in a case involving alleged misbehaviour with police and interference in official duties.

The suspect was arrested in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) after a heated argument with police officials a day earlier. A video of the incident, which circulated widely on social media, showed the suspect allegedly misbehaving with officers and claiming to be the son of a senior superintendent of police (SSP).
Following the incident, a First Information Report (FIR) was registered at the Defence police station on the complaint of a police officer.
During the hearing, the defence counsel argued that the case against Khubaib was “false and fabricated,” asserting that his client neither resisted the police nor obstructed official duties. The lawyer further told the court that the matter had initially been resolved amicably at the police station, where an officer allegedly acknowledged a mistake.
The defence also questioned the timing of the FIR, noting that it was registered approximately nine hours after the alleged incident, which was described as unusual.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the judicial magistrate (South) granted bail to the suspect against surety bonds of Rs50,000.
