According to a KW&SC spokesperson, water supply has begun resuming in multiple affected areas, including Korangi, Malir, Chanesar, Jinnah, Saddar, Clifton, and DHA. The system is stabilizing progressively as operational flows return to normal.
The spokesperson stated that Karachi’s daily water demand stands at approximately 650 million gallons, while the current supply has reached around 610 million gallons, leaving a shortfall of 40 million gallons. He added that efforts are underway to bridge the gap in the coming phase as system efficiency improves.
He further explained that an unexpected power breakdown at the Dhabeji pumping station had disrupted key water transmission operations, leading to temporary supply interruptions across parts of the city. However, restoration work has been completed and supply is now being resumed in phases.
KW&SC officials expressed confidence that normal water distribution levels will be fully restored soon as pumping and distribution systems return to stable operation.
