Qasba Reservoir: The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) continued its anti-encroachment operation for the fifth consecutive day at the Qasba Reservoir in Block-T, North Nazimabad, reclaiming additional government land from illegal occupants. The operation took place under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Central Taha Saleem. Officials from KWSC, the district administration, police and other relevant departments participated in the campaign. More government land reclaimed According to a KWSC spokesperson, authorities demolished additional illegal structures built on government land and restored the reclaimed area to official control. Moreover, senior KWSC officials, including PD Land Yousuf Abbasi, Chief Security Officer Syed Jawad Shah, Senior Director Land Abdul Rauf Jamali, Superintending Engineer Tanveer Sheikh, Executive Engineer Rizwan Ahsan and Security Department official Syed Sajjad Shah, joined the operation alongside district administration and law enforcement personnel. Focus on protecting water infrastructure The spokesperson said the campaign aims to safeguard government property from illegal occupation while protecting critical water supply infrastructure serving Karachi. Furthermore, KWSC thanked the district administration, police and other government agencies for supporting the operation and ensuring its smooth implementation. Drive to expand next week The corporation reiterated that it would not tolerate illegal occupation of public land and confirmed that authorities would continue legal action under the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation Act 2023, the Sindh Public Property (Removal of Encroachment) Act 2010 and other applicable laws. Meanwhile, the spokesperson announced that the anti-encroachment campaign will expand next week to include KWSC-owned land in Gharo, Thatta district, and other corporation properties. KWSC reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the operation until all government land is fully recovered and restored for public use.
