Anti-Encroachment Aram Bagh Leads South Karachi Drive with Highest Number of Operations

Anti-Encroachment operations in Karachi’s South District have intensified, with Aram Bagh recording the highest number of actions as authorities continue their campaign against illegal occupations on government land and public footpaths.

Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi released the district’s anti-encroachment performance report on Saturday, covering operations conducted up to July 16. The report highlighted extensive enforcement activities across South District aimed at reclaiming public spaces and improving urban accessibility.

According to the report, Aram Bagh Sub-Division delivered the strongest performance under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Hazim Bhangwar. Authorities arrested 62 people, sealed 655 small and large shops, and carried out 655 operations against illegal encroachments.

In Lyari Sub-Division, officials conducted 90 anti-encroachment operations and sealed 77 shops as part of the ongoing campaign.

Naqvi said the drive had produced encouraging results and described the overall performance of South District as satisfactory. He directed officials to continue taking indiscriminate action against illegal occupations and ensure that government land and public footpaths remain free from encroachments.

The commissioner also reaffirmed that anti-encroachment operations would continue across Karachi. He warned that authorities would take strict legal action against anyone found violating the law or occupying public land illegally.

The district administration said the campaign aims to improve public access, strengthen urban management and create a safer environment for residents across the city.
