The visit marks Naqvi’s second trip to Tehran within a week, highlighting Pakistan’s continued diplomatic engagement in a rapidly evolving regional environment.
During his visit, Naqvi met Eskandar Momeni, where both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, including border management, security cooperation and counterterrorism coordination. According to Iranian media reports, the talks also covered broader regional developments and the changing security situation in the Middle East.
Naqvi also held discussions with Ahmad Vahidi, reflecting ongoing military-level communication between Pakistan and Iran on strategic and security issues. The discussions were described as part of broader consultations on regional stability and defence-related coordination.
The meetings come as Pakistan continues playing a diplomatic role in facilitating indirect communication between the United States and Iran in efforts aimed at reducing tensions and supporting dialogue on regional issues.
During previous engagements in Tehran, Naqvi had also met Masoud Pezeshkian, Abbas Araghchi and Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf to discuss bilateral relations, regional security and diplomatic developments.
Iranian reports also suggested that discussions extended to maritime security, energy routes and economic challenges linked to regional instability.
As diplomatic efforts continue across multiple channels, regional stakeholders remain engaged in attempts to prevent further escalation and maintain dialogue amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
