Speaking about regional messaging and strategic communication, Gupta reportedly said Pakistan has consistently worked over decades to present its position in a structured and organized manner, helping it strengthen its diplomatic outreach globally.
He noted that individuals linked to institutions including Inter-Services Intelligence and Inter-Services Public Relations have remained active across multiple platforms as part of what he described as a long-term strategy to counter India’s narrative.
According to the remarks, India has attempted to use various diplomatic and communication channels to advance its position internationally, but those efforts have faced challenges in gaining broader traction.
Gupta also referred to Pakistan’s regional role, stating that confidence shown by countries during past regional developments reflected Islamabad’s diplomatic significance.
Analysts say such observations from a former senior Indian security official have fueled debate over the effectiveness of strategic communication and diplomacy in South Asia. They argue that Pakistan has focused on presenting its position through diplomatic engagement, while broader discussions continue regarding how both countries shape international perceptions.
